“All dry and English slow”

True to type, I’m going with another sad song for my first Music Wednesday post of 2024.

I’m a big fan of The Cure and they have so many great songs, but this is easily one of my favourites and as usual, it’s because of the lyrics. On their own, they’re haunting enough, but the fact song written in memory of Robert Smith’s friend Billy Mackenzie, the lead singer of the new wave band Associates, who committed suicide in 1997 adds to the song’s impact.

Cut Here is from The Cure’s greatest his album available from Amazon right here.
