In June 2011, the Vancouver Canucks Ice Hockey team got to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals and lost. In response, “fans” rioted, causing an estimated $4.2 million worth of damage. At least 140 people were reported as injured during the incident, one critically; at least four people were stabbed, nine police officers were injured, and 101 people were arrested that night, with 16 further arrests following the event [Source: Wikipedia].

Not the city’s finest moment.

The next day, thousands of people came out to help clean up the mess and the boarded up shop windows became home to thousands of messages of anger, disgust, support and love.
